Finding the “right” cleanser is a difficult job, especially if you have trouble skin, and don’t want to waste away your pay check on skin care products (can I get an amen)?! These past 2 months, I have trialed numerous cleansers from brands that have sent me their products to try out, and I have compared and contrasted the effects that these products have had on my acne prone, combination skin. Nevertheless, after lots of break-outs and both oily and dry reactions to products, I have fallen on these 3 face washes that I would recommend for anyone with combination, and acne-prone skin. There are a few other faves of mine that I will also mention that I believe work just as well as these 3 products, but the 3 products that I am featuring in this post are the products that are on my current face wash rotation.

The first product is #1 on my recommendations list, and this is Tarte Cosmetics Squeezy Clean. It comes in the standard 150mL bottle, but with the little amount of cleanser you’ll need to wash your face with, this bottle goes a long way! I’m a huge fan of face washes that have orange in their ingredients as oranges are loaded with Vitamin C and Antioxidants, which are essential for not only fighting off acne, but also reducing the swelling and redness of acne. In addition, oranges improve oily skin and makes skin firm, smooth and soft (yay for balanced complexion, FINALLY)!

– Soothing & gentle formula removes all impurities, while leaving skin feeling soft & hydrated
– Energizing citrus fragrance helps you wake up in the morning
– Rejuvenating and revitalizing ingredients including: Lavender, Orange and Witch Hazel

Price: $22 USD

Rating: 10/10 – leaves my skin looking flawless and feeling super hydrated – but not greasy!

The second face wash is Mario Badescu’s Enzyme Cleansing Gel. This is my favourite inexpensive face wash as it retails for $14 USD, is super light weight on the skin and is good for all skin types! Mario Badescu recently sent me a haul of all their fave skin care products and with no doubt in my mind this is my favourite product that they sent me in my PR package. Made with Papaya and Grapefruit, this cleanser removes excess oil and dulling surface impurities to rejuvenate the complexion—leaving skin bright and refreshed. Thanks Mario Badescu!

– Papaya and Grapefruit work together to gently cleanse skin and refresh skins complexion
– Gentle formula perfect for all skin types
– Subtle aroma that isn’t overwhelming

$14 USD

Rating: 9/10 – solely because it doesn’t’ leave my skin feeling rejuvenated the way the Squeezy Clean does

And the 3rd and final cleanser is Kylie Skin’s Face Wash. This is overall a fan favourite so I obviously had to include it solely for the reason that it’s a #trending cleanser right now. I isn’t my favourite cleanser, because it doesn’t really have a scent to it or leave my skin feeling rejuvenated like the Squeezy Clean cleanser does, but this is a great cleanser for someone who has very sensitive skin and therefore needs a simple cleanser, with a mild scent.

Price: $24 USD

Rating: 8/10 – Doesn’t have much of a scent (which is something I personally enjoy) and doesn’t leave my skin tingly and hydrated the way Squeezy Clean does.

Aside from the products listed above, a few of my other go-to cleansers for acne prone and/or sensitive skin are as follows:

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser
Tatcha The Deep Cleanse
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
