A warrior doesn’t need a man to help her stand

Motivation

The strongest thing about you was the thing he had forgotten to appreciate… your audacity.

There was a time that you had loved him so passionately with each and every inch of your delicate, naïve heart… but now there’s nothing more than just a lingering emptiness inside your chest where his heart used to rest silently against yours, entangled within your existence. And sometimes, you catch yourself thinking about the days when everything was just a little bit simpler… when every embrace felt like home and every kiss felt like eternity.

But somehow, somewhere among the soft summer breeze and the thundering echoes of the winter wind, you awoke from the illusion of happiness you had falsely created for yourself that you had so easily defined as your reality.

Maybe you had finally realized that you deserved better than someone who made you feel more alone than the intricate perfection that you are, or maybe, you had known all along. Maybe because you had gotten so used to nurturing him and putting his needs before your own, you had forgotten to water your own roots and allow yourself time to blossom.

But now your tender heart begins to hurt a little less with every inch he tries to break of it, and your shaky feet begin to grow a little stronger with every broken promise he swore he’d always keep. You’ve become a warrior… and my darling, a warrior doesn’t need a man to help her stand. A warrior doesn’t need a man to drag her up off of the floor and rebuild the fortress below her. She can do that all on her own, and so will you.
